FEAR! Simple and very effective. When he goes to Adelle she says she doesn't what to die. And Paul's answer is :" Then only one of us is going to be disappointed." I think that means he's not afraid to die! And only someone without fear can be like that! I think Paul is going to die in the end! And that's way Joss wrote it this way! He's fearless now! That said I will feel far more sense of closure than I did with Firefly I suspect. Firefly's arc had barely begun before Serenity, whereas Dollhouse has been firing on all cylinders all season. He said this was the end. All I can hope for is that we work our asses off (we won't) to get high ratings in January after Bones, and then work our asses off and buy a bunch of DVDS, and maybe then Joss can do a Straight to DVD movie like Dead Like Me where he won't have to explain the basic plot of Dollhouse, or re-introduce the characters, because everyone buying it will have seen Dollhouse. That's the reason he said Serenity was a pain in the ass, and he didn't want a Dollhouse Movie. If we can get the numbers high enough for a straight to dvd movie to be profitable, he can do season 3/4/whatever in a few hours. If the ending of Epitah Two somehow prevents whatever arc he had planned, then he might still have more to say in movies. He said (After the show was cancelled and the finale was probably basically finalized) that he didn't want to do comics because it wouldn't be enough action, and would be too much talking. That means that he probably could extend the series after Epitah Two, if he were given a movie. Kevin/Gossi has said that as far as he knows, only the finale has been changed at all because of the cancellation (sure, they covered alot more thinking it was their last season, but the official cancellation only affected Epitah 2.) I'm sure they gave it more closure, but couldn't have changed it THAT much, not enough to end the show forever. I doubt anybody's gonna read this.
