This is the crew having the last crew lunch on set. They wrap up later today with the final (filmed) scene of the show. Then there’s a few weeks of post production, then airing. We’ll continue to cover the airings.
On a personal note, this whole thing has been the weirdest experience of my life. It’s also been amazing. I’m eternally grateful for the friendships and support from everybody involved in the show – both working on it, and fellow fans. It’s been a blast. Can’t wait to see how it ends. Wish it didn’t have to.

I thought that I would be so much less bitter about it than I am, but it’s a very sad ending now because season two hasn’t had a bad episode yet, whereas season one had “growing pains,” to put it mildly. Either way, it was challenging television to watch: it raised tough moral, political, and social questions and I think that it made all of it’s fans think twice about a few things, which is rare to find in the world today. This is actually probably my favorite science-fiction show now, right above “Battlestar Galactica” (another reason season two was so good — all the BSG guest stars, LOL).
Thanks so much to Joss Whedon and the crew for everything they’ve done these last two years. I’m sorry that it didn’t work out but I think that while it was on it said a lot of the things it wanted/needed to say, and I look forward to a deeply satisfying series finale. Here’s crossing my fingers for Ballard to get better before the end!
*Oh, hey, Gossi, thanks to you too BTW for doing this amazing blog; it’s been a blast. I was wondering — do you know if they’re going to release a soundtrack? Because no other Whedon show thus far (even “Firefly”) hasn’t had one yet, and “Dollhouse” has had some amazing music over the last two seasons, and the score was pretty good as well. In any case, signing off now. I have to go watch “Eastwick” tonight — another great show that just got cancelled this year. Sigh.
FYI: Firefly does have a soundtrack – do a search on Amazon for “Firefly soundtrack”.
I think the others might, also, so it’s likely you’ll see it, eventually.
Other than that, yeah, sad to lose Dollhouse…
I said no Whedon project *doesn’t* have one…I should know, I own them all!
[And was I the only one disappointed that they didn't keep the "Firefly" composer for the "Serenity" soundtrack? The guy who did "Serenity" was good, but the guy who originally did "Firefly" was sooo much better!]
Battlestar Galactica was so much better as a whole. If Dollhouse was able to create and maintain what they’ve done in season 2, it might have been equal to Battlestar Galactica, but to me BSG is untouched.
I agree with Phoenix on a few things. I am still sad and angry that my favorite show is going off the air. This is one of the few shows i watch that is not sports-related, and i would wait all week long to see what Echo and the crew would be up to on Friday night.
And now it’s over.
I just wish they had considered trying another network before pulling the plug altogether. This show was worth fighting for..again.
Here’s hoping Eliza can get out of whatever deal she has going with Fox very soon. Here’s hoping Joss Wheden never looks back at Fox. He can just flip them the bird over his shoulder as he walks away.
You Whedonites seem to be pretty cool. So much so that i’m gonna get the first season “Firefly” from Netflix and check it out. If i like it, i’ll watch them all. Who knows..maybe before it’s all over, i may end up joining your merry band of people-who-dig-good-shows.
Gossi..it’s been real, baby. I didn’t come here that much, but i don’t usually visit sites like this at all. You did a bang-up job keeping us informed on what was going on with the passion you did. Thank you for that. You rock.
So the “Dollhouse” experience is really almost over. Damn. On top of everything, i didn’t make the playoffs for my Fantasy Football team. Excuse me while i go curl up on my kitchen floor in the fetal position, eat chocolate, and shed a few tears.
When i saw this i kinda teared up, its actually going to end?? This season is far superior than i thought it was going to turn out to be. And to think, its over? It breaks my heart, but i guess i have to b happy that i got this much, and a conclusion. I hope Echo, Victor, Sierra, Adelle, Paul, Boyd, Topher, and Dr. Saunders have an ending that serves them well. From what i seen this show made me cry when echo had her baby taken away, had me horrified what they did to Sierra, made me feel awful for what Alpha did to poor Claire, and for Topher becoming so freaking awesome. Damn…tears lol
Sorry mzkiki but there is only one season of firefly… And it was AMAZING. I cannot believe that this show is going off the air. Why do they keep taking all the great ones? They’ve got something like 5 law and orders, 3 csi’s, 2 ncis’ and how many doctor/hospital shows? … They can’t keep any shows that are original.
aww, such a sad time. but at the same time i’m SO excited to see what’s gunna be next for D-House in Jan when it returns! i really hope they have a nice, and most important, FINISHED ending. haha none of that “clifthanger” crap! i wanna see an end =)
As with so many things, we have to be grateful for what we did get – and despite all the negative commentary from those who, as far as I can see, aren’t even watching the recent episodes, I think the cast and crew have proven that given the right support, this could easily have been regarded as ranking as a proud equal amongst the other Mutant Enemy shows.
I’ve just finished watching The Attic, and I can’t believe we only have three episodes to learn about these people and find out the end of this story, when it is apparent there is so much more that could be told.
I’ll be there for every episode, and I’ll be urging my friends to join in the fun – and the trauma.
I’m glad to have been a customer of the Dollhouse.
hey i was wondering whether or not dollhouse series 2 is gonna get a uk dvd release as the first series was released on dvd here and i love it !!! the second season is amazing also and im soooooooooooo mad its going off the air but i would love to have the whole series on dvd !
It’s hard to believe that the UK wouldn’t get a Season 2 DVD release. I wouldn’t worry… even though I’m an ignorant Yank.
It’s a Joss Whedon show, thus marketers know there’s an audience for it!
As for me… Dollhouse is my #2 Joss TV show, behind only Buffy. I love them all!
I’m sure this has been covered and/or asked, but has anyone approached SyFy about taking over the series or is that impossible because of whatever contract Dushku is stuck in?
Season One of Dollhouse was interesting, and I hoped that Season Two would be better. I’d had my cable shut off in that time and was watching episodes of my favorite shows late and it was hard to keep the previous week stuck in my head so I knew what was going on with the next one. Since getting cable back, it’s still hard with some shows. Not so with Dollhouse, and Season Two has been nothing short of Epic.
I’m not a big Whedon fan, generally speaking.. I eventually watched Buffy, a few years before it went off the air, and caught the last season of Angel, Firefly was ok… Serenity was a’ight. Buffy grew on me over time and I own the catalog now. But I was really looking forward to Dollhouse continuing on.
FOX is slow suicide to any show that doesn’t attract vapid children. I wish Dollhouse had been given a chance, because I even think that the people who watched Season One and hated it would be on board if they watched these latest episodes in Season Two.
Such a shame…
