Did you have sound or picture issues during DOLLHOUSE tonight?

Post in the comments.

If you could include your region, too, that could help.

  1. Joe Enos says:

I had some choppy sound, and a few seconds of no sound, but none of the major problems that apparently some others had.

I’ve got DirecTV in Phoenix, AZ, if that makes a difference.

    • Exlonox says:

I have DirecTv in Florida and I experienced pretty much the same thing.

    • Laura R. says:

I’m in Phoenix, AZ as well and we got the same thing, very choppy picture, and cut out sound occasionally too. :( Very disappointing!

    • Kristine Ehlers says:

Here in Wisconsin, regardless of DirectTV, the problem continued for over an hour with the sound, I had to give up on watching it on TV and I caught the episodes on Hulu.com. I’m really upset about the show being cancelled. I think it was just starting to get really exciting. I was especially excited about Summer Glau being on the show, as well as, Alexis Denisoff, & Alan Tudyk’s appearance’s always seems to heat up the show. Can’t another network pick up the show and put it on a different night than Friday? I just don’t understand why the show has to be cancelled.

  2. Jaycee says:

Yeah I had alot of issues most of it was with sound but some of it was with picture as well, really kind of sucks but I thought the episodes were still totally awesome anyway.

  3. Max Bell says:

The show cut out for about twelve minutes — that I kept track of. I gave up.

  4. Portland’s FOX station froze for two minutes around five minutes into the second episode. Intermittent sound glitches here and there throughout the evening.

    • Robert says:

I saw the same thing in Oakland CA. (on Comcast) at about the 1:04 mark, the picture froze on Boyd and Ballard until the 1:07 mark with Topher asking “what does that make her” or something. I thought it might have been my TiVo glitching. I’m hoping to find the bit I missed on hulu.

  5. Carrie H says:

The first half was pretty normal, although the second hour had a few seconds of sound drop outs here and there. Not enough to ruin the show, but it was annoying. Around 1:42 the sound dropped out for a good ten seconds, which was horrible timing considering the plot had just twisted. The picture scrambled with movement a few times, as well. I live in Indiana and have Brighthouse cable.

  6. Robin McGrath says:

Oh, I wasn’t having any of the issues that other people were, but I didn’t have sound for a little bit of the Paul/Alpha scene. My fox channel here at college in connecticut isn’t always reliable so I didn’t think much of it ’till I saw someone mention it. It was just maybe 30seconds of Alpha talking, though.

  7. Tarotx says:

I did in Columbus Ohio insight cable. It wasn’t super bad even though it did mess with the Alpha/Echo fight :(

  8. V2Blast says:

I experienced about 5-10 seconds where there was no sound at all. Besides that, I’ve had brief and occasional sound issues on various channels lately, including with Dollhouse on Fox.

  9. CandyMaize says:

Yes, during the second hour .. picture froze for MANY minutes (lost track). I have Dish Network satellite service on the west coast (am DVR’ing right now actually and am behind the live broadcast)

  10. ben_b55 says:

Well i feel lucky. My picture only froze for about 2 minutes. There is still about 15 minutes left that Fox Broadcasting can screw up.

  11. Jen says:

I’m in the Mountain Time Zone (in Idaho) and I had choppy sound throughout both episodes.

  12. April says:

Yes, in Michigan with Comcast cable I had several instances of choppy sound and about a minute where the sound went out completely.

  13. Zannadoo says:

Watching in San Francisco – yeah, froze for about 2 minutes too

  14. Erin Nicole says:

I don’t recall any problem during the 1st hour, but like others have said before me I had some sound/picture problems during the second. Mostly notably, during the Paul/Alpha scene when Alpha had Paul strapped to the chair. Pretty annoying since I completely missed what Alpha was saying.

I didnt really think anything of it since that sometimes happens with our cable since we use an antenna, but then I saw that I was not alone in this problem tonight.

    I’m in Texas.

  15. MizBehavin1 says:

Here in San Diego (Fox5), near the beginning of the first episode when Ballard and Boyd are speaking the picture & sound froze for maybe 3 minutes.

Note: Watching via Cox Cable Oceanside.

  16. Carencey says:

No freezing issues, but the same periodic audio dropouts…brief in the first hour, much worse in the second, again during the Paul/Alpha scene. viewing the HD feed on Comcast in Maryland.

  17. Dianna says:

Forgot whether it was 1st/2nd episode tonight, but the show just paused.. gah. For some time, probably a few minutes.

    in cali

  18. kim says:

SoCal area, the picture froze for a couple minutes early in the 2nd ep. Thought it was just me at first, since I’m on a digital antenna, not cable or satellite. Ballard and Boyd in the observation room outside Echo’s cell.

  19. Lisa says:

Both episodes were a little jumpy with the picture and sound, but the second literally cut out on the sound at one point.

    Metrocast in New Hampshire.

  20. Kevin says:

I lost sound briefly at a couple of points during both episodes, most annoyingly during Alpha’s dialogue with Ballard. I’m in Raleigh, NC, getting cable. I’m going to re-watch with captions to make sure I get all the stuff I missed.

I wonder if the Hulu files will have the same problems… that might tell whoever’s in charge of these things where the problem was.

  21. Kirstin says:

    Champaign IL

Lots of choppiness and sound issues early in the episode before Echo and Ballard returned to the Dollhouse

  22. James says:

On mine the audio cut out, the picture froze, became boxed in (black bars on all four sides), then stopped working for several seconds. Less than a minute, I think. Seattle area, receiving over the air 720p broadcast.

  23. Jay says:

Had same issues in the first few minutes of the second episode the sound the video pause and audio was cut off I have direct TV and live in Vegas

  24. Baltimore, Maryland here. Sound cut out twice during the exchange between Alpha and Ballard in the second episode.

  25. Sarah says:

My FOX station comes out of Louisville, KY

    HORRIBLE problems.. :(

  26. Mary G says:

Portland, Or. KPTV picture froze and no sound for…2 min?

  27. Lee Katherine says:

My sound cut out a couple times during the second episode, most significantly during the Alpha/Ballard scene during one of Alpha’s little rants. I’ll have to go back and make sure I catch all of that. I’m in Washington, DC on my college’s cable, and I’ve actually had a lot of problems with Fox lately (and only Fox). Usually sound cutting out for a bit, picture widening or stretching or something for a few minutes (I’m on an old-school boxy TV), etc.

  28. aperson says:

I live in southeastern Iowa, and experienced a corrupted signal for the middle part of the first episode, in which the sound was there, but glitchy and skipping, as was the video and closed captionings. This lasted about 10-15 minutes, and a brief sound outage during the second episode.

  29. burnell bragg says:

I am in Mass on comcast cable.I had a lost
of both sound and picture during both shows.

  30. Dan B says:

Just tried to watch the first episode on my DVR & the picture & sound crapped out for 10 minutes straight. Have not tried second ep. yet. DirecTV/Fox 55 in Wisconsin.

  31. Nicole says:

Yes, had both video and audio problems using Bresnan cable and a DVR box in southwestern Montana.

  32. Pattyb says:

I did have lost dialog and freeze frame issues. Was very upset I lost some important scenes.

  33. JC says:

Yes we did–using Comcast in DC. Picture was jumpy and dialogue cut out at various points.

  34. Brian says:

My local Greensboro, NC affiliate decided to air a Christmas special from 8-9PM. The first episode aired from 9-10 and the second episode aired at Midnight. That ticked me off severely! I will have to watch episode 8 on fox.com or hulu now! The only other problem I had was that episode 7 was never shown in HD on Directv.

  35. Phoenix says:

I was fine during “Meet Jane Doe,” but my sound and my picture cut up during several points of “A Love Supreme,” most annoyingly during the Paul/Alpha sequence and the Echo/Alpha fight immediately afterward; I lost about twenty seconds of dialogue and it sucked! I have Cox cable in southwest Virginia, if that helps.

  36. Aaron Boyden says:

Had sound issues, audio cutting out for short periods, in Rhode Island. Quite annoying, especially as the episodes were so excellent. I must say, it really might have been a better idea to start with excellent episodes and slide to good but uneven later, instead of the other way around; the show might not have gotten canceled!

  37. Vicki says:

I had sound problems for about 6 minutes in the first ep and 5 in the second…

It was about the most frustrating thing ever… During a really interesting moment

    in Dover AR

  38. fuffybaby18 says:

I had issue with the little sound glitches throughout the middle part of the second episode, and at least a full two minutes without sound during Alpha’s monologue about love to Ballard. The image was horrible during both episodes – very grainy and sometimes staticy.

I live in Grand Rapids, MI.

  39. Ashley says:

I live in Toronto, ON and watched it with no issues. We have Rogers cable.

  40. Chris Roberts says:

Here In Missouri I have comcast cable.Through the night there were brief
sound Issues that finally got really bad
during Alpha’s montage when Paul Is In the chair.Glad to know I was not the only place affected by It.It seems Fox
Is screwing over DollHouse yet again since as they show the last episodes they
can’t even allow people to watch with no problems.

  41. littleREDelf says:

same as The One True b!X above – FOX in Portland froze for 2 minutes near the midway mark. We have Comcast and were watching the playback on TiVo. i was worried my HD on Tivo was crapping out.

  42. JC says:

Austin, Grande HD. No long stretches, but a lot of glitching.

  43. scratchybottoms says:

sound went out on and off. comcast central pennsylvania. hate them anyway. loved show

  44. ben says:

We were watching on DirectTV in Indiana and there were a few picture glitches in the first hour, but the second hour had moments where there was no picture and several minutes where the sound would cut out, particularly during Alpha’s big scene on the roof.

  45. Walker says:

The middle of South Dakota over here and I about right before Echo started trying to get into Paul’s pants on the dinner table the sound started glitching skipping bouncing around and stuff which lasted for like ten or twenty minutes. Then for probably 50 seconds to a few minutes I got that colored bar screen along with the high pitched “BEEEEEP” and then it resumed right after that. It came back during a part in the Dollhouse on Adelle’s face, not sure which exactly. I had the 30 second long no sound thing during Alpha’s and Ballard’s talk but I figured it was nothing since FOX sounds seem to cut out for a few seconds often. Of course, this one seemed much longer and wasn’t accompanied with the usually zap sound.

  46. Dustin says:

Bit of a sound issue during the Alpha/Ballard chair scene. WOW! cable, Southgate MI

  47. Rpgdancer says:

i had sound issues during the alpha/ballard scene as well… i use captions, so it was all good, but still, it would have been nice to hear him say what he said. also, the volume was really low. i had my tv set at 98 for volume (and i’m not that hard of hearing!)

    Long Island
    Direct TV

  48. DeezyG says:

I’m in jamaica on vacation, and I had some problems, but not as much as others. It was like, one or two lines gone every 5ish minutes for episode one. Someties more, but bearable.

  49. Alan says:

I’m from New York and there were some sound problems mostly the first hour. However, during other shows on Fox, sometimes the picture blacks out and all we get are sounds. Thankfully none of this happened during DH last night.

  50. Dan says:

Sound problems and occasional glitchy digital pixilation – Malden, MA – Comcast

  51. MikeATL says:

I was watching OTA (over the air) in HD and I noticed several glitches during both episodes here in Atlanta. Given how the FOX network distribution system works, I suspect these glitches went out network wide to most if not all the affiliates. Different TV’s, set top boxes, etc. reacted differently each time they happened. I was recording, but haven’t pulled the files over to my PC yet to take a closer look at what was going on.

  52. Kristen says:

    In Australia.
    No Dollhouse airing.
    Very sad.
    Internet quality pretty decent :)

  53. Howard Jones says:

I lost a few seconds of sound, no picture problems, though. I’m on Charter Communications cable, Johnson City, TN.

  54. charleegee says:

Pixilated Freeze… Dish Network… Ep 8… Ballard and Boyd in the observation room outside Echo’s cell…

  55. bobby says:

it was a remote whipe ppl, ur officially butchers lol kidding well in ny it messed up a couple of times, i thought i was glitching lol it happened when Alpha began to comment about the idea of love, which he explained to paul and it went blank. I thought it was suppose to be like that, but when i went to whedonesque it appears everyone was just as confused. So…Rossum, i mean fox must of slipped up on purpose and its funny cuz the ratings rose up

  56. blackeyedgurl says:

I had sound and picture issues throughout episode 7. At one point my screen went rainbow bars & another time all I had was the Fox logo for over a minute. Funny, it was only during the episode & NOT during any of the commericals. Episode 8 was mostly clear. I rewatched both on Hulu just to make sure I didn’t miss anything.

BTW: I am in WI, Milwaukee market on Time Warner Cable. A friend of mine in Madison on Charter cable had the exact same problems at the same times. Fox’s feed was just messed up.

  57. Dave says:

Screwed up feed for two episodes = order two new ones! It’s only fair. And it’s simple math.

  58. Jean D says:

Over the air on Global in Montreal: No problem whatsoever.

  59. “Mostly notably, during the Paul/Alpha scene when Alpha had Paul strapped to the chair. Pretty annoying since I completely missed what Alpha was saying.”

Yeah, that happened to me too last week. I thought it was just Time Warner Cable here in San Antonio being wonky. Guess not… D:
