Okay, here’s how things shake out. On Friday, FOX asked Joss to come in and pitch a second season of Dollhouse. That’s a very good sign. They wanted to know his plans.
Off the back of that, they’re now negotiating towards a second season. Which is brilliant, actually.

The official decision gets announced on Monday — although, obviously, the decision is made before then — and we’ll have it here and on Twitter as soon as it’s known. We’re covering the upfront presentation so news shall be gushing that day.

FOX: Please greenlight season 2 of DOLLHOUSE!!! The show has so much potential. Low ratings, yes, but more narrative content than people have come to expect from TV. it’s refreshing. Many of us would be grateful to see it continue.
I have limited free time and DVR Dollhouse to watch every single week to watch with friends. It’s become something that we really look forward to. Please do not cancel the program just as it’s reaching its stride!

Please don’t cancel Dollhouse. My family (6 people) doesn’t have TV, but we do watch, every single week, on Hulu.com. it is the only show currently on TV that we watch. Please don’t take this show away from the fans!

Dollhouse is one of the few shows able to make its fans think fully about themselves every week. It is one of the few shows that can interlectually challenge and connect to its veiwers with every show. Please give it a chance to develop into another of Joss Whedon’s masterpiece shows, that will be disscussed long after it has finished.

Fox’s programming for the 2009-2010 season would be deeply disappointing without a second season of Dollhouse on the schedule. Joss Whedon is a great asset to any network. After the cancellation of Firefly and subsequent backlash from fans, followed by a successful movie, you’d think this would be a no-brainer.
Don’t cancel Dollhouse, PLEASE!! I’m prepared to beg for a second season, that’s how much I love this show!

Dollhouse is an excellent show that attracts viewers from all age groups (I know teens, twentysomethings, fortyishes, and sextagenarians that watch it regularly). It’s been good from the start but has just really started to hit its full stride and doesn’t deserve to be tripped up unceremoniously. The “watching live” ratings may not have been the best, but they would almost certainly improve dramatically if it appeared in a non-Friday time slot.
Please do the right thing and give the show a real chance to shine.

Its a great show, great cast, and a lot of potential for future story lines.
I want to remind Fox that Buffy season one was weak as well and now there are college courses using Buffy as source material. I’m not saying Dollhouse is going to be the most amazing thing ever, but season two will build the audience and we’ll truly see the actual potential of the show.

Although Nielsen ratings don’t show it, Hulu ratings and comments do, and in this 21st century interconnected media world, Nielsen households frankly aren’t an accurate representation of show viability anymore.
You have an opportunity to enter and merge the realms of tv broadcasting and social media. Take it.

Fox, Please don’t cancel Dollhouse. Look how much it has accomplished story wise it just 12 episodes. The philosophy behind the show cannot be ignored, I haven’t seen such a topical and intelligent tv show on air for a very long time. Give Dollhouse a chance for season 2, change around air nights, you might just be surprised. The potential is there, please see it.

I was literally shouting at my TV in excitement over the thrilling twists and turns and turns of image and phrase while watching the Season Finale of Dollhouse! Please make it a Season Finale and not a Series Finale. Whedon and the extremely-talented cast and crew are only scratching the surface of this brilliant premise so far, and wouldn’t you love to be one of the cool kids for once that caught on to and supported something ahead of everybody else? Then, you can feel all smug and superior and know-it-ally, and it’s a great feeling, believe me! Please give us more Dollhouse (you know you want to)!!
I really enjoyed season one of Dollhouse, especially the second half of the season. It is already the best or second-best first season of a Joss Whedon show. And Buffy and Angel did pretty well in the long run despite relatively weak first seasons. So, Fox, please renew the show for another season (and hopefully many more to come).
Besides, May 18th is my birthday and you fine people at Fox wouldn’t want to ruin that for me with news of the shows cancellation, right ?

I would be heartbrooken if this show is not renewed. I don’t even watch TV, hell, I don’t even OWN one, but ever since my friend told me about this show, I’ve been addicted to it. The writers, producers, actors, and all associated staff work SO hard to convey a thought-provoking, slightly disturbing, entertaining, and really VALUABLE television to the public. With so many meaningless shows out there, it’s rare and wonderful to see one as complex in not only set, plot, and thematic elements as dollhouse, but in the controversial topics it brings into the public eye. This show is truly a gem, and I’m sure that if allowed a second season, would continue to awe, inspire, and motivate people to think more complexly. Thanks!

Dollhouse has been marvelous! It started out a bit rocky, but by the end, it turned into something magical. I have several friends who started watching it with me, but weren’t that into it at the beginning, by after episode 6, they were hooked. We had a party the night of the finale. I really hope this comes back. The writing has been brilliant.
Please, please just move it to another timeslot. Say, Tuesday. I guarantee it will become instantly much more profitable for you.

The five stand-alone introduction was done at FOXs’ insistence. The idea failed. Who is gonna commit to returning to something new, which they can dip in and out of? The Death Slot, again Foxs’ idea. A terminal ratings decline ensued. Surprise? No.
Please Fox, give this show the chance it deserves.

This show is amazing and already has a huge following. Remember that Joss’ show Buffy the Vampire Slayer had seven seasons and continues to sell DVDs to this day. Give Dollhouse a chance to be a moneymaker for you, and a great show for the fans!

Joss tells so many amazing story’s. I have The Angel DVDs which I have watched over 6 times all the way through. I have Firefly and I am surly getting Dollhouse. I really want to see where Joss and his crew will take us next! Thank you!
Dollhouse went from a show I gave a chance for Joss and Eliza, DVRing it to watch later to a show I had to see the new episodes now! and multiple times! Like all Whedon, it just gets better each time you watch it. It’s really one of my most-looked-forward-to shows of the week!
Dollhouse needs to be renewed, and hopefully put on a night other than Friday. The second half of the season was easily the best TV this season. I’m going to keep watching this show as long as it’s on, and I’ll buy every season that comes out on DVD, for as long as it remains as awesome as it is now. RENEW DOLLHOUSE!
I don’t think this show works as Broadcast TV. Too expensive, not enough people will like it. Like Yogi said, people don’t want to watch, how you gonna stop em?
It should be on FX as a limited run series. It can probably make money there. Eliza just isn’t a star, and Whedon’s stories have limited appeal — it’s hard to rail against the Man when you are in fact, the Man. But this show would fit well with anti-hero stuff like the Shield and Rescue Me on FX.
Dollhouse is the show that’s made me start watching TV regularly. It is the first truly original show I have seen in the last several years… please renew it!

Fox please dont cancel dollhouse! its the first show i have watched scince firefly went off the air! it is honestly a wonderful show with an amazing plot. even if you cant see where dollhouse is going please trust joss, he has done amazing things w/ his shows and the fact he produced it was the only reason i started watching. it has hooked me tho and several of my friends please fox please give dollhouse another season (or in my view several)
This is one of the best shows on TV, there are very few that compare in quality of story and cast. The show comes at you in different directions every week, which is hard to do and to keep fresh. I have watched a significant amount of Tv and not surprises me. The cast play the characters so well, and as always Joss has done amazing storytelling. The show should be supported and given another season to let it develop.
This show is incredible. It fills a void that was in my life from the missing Whedon-shows- the only television I would ever watch. The show is just absolutely, without doubt, necessary. The show needs to be moved to a Tuesday line-up, where it will have the same success as Buffy. FOX shouldn’t make the mistake of underestimating Whedon’s fans ever again. This show needs a good, long, run, or I will lose my faith in television.
Dollhouse is definately a great show and is returning television to its glory days. The problem is that it has been placed on Friday nights, the night when the young adult audience it is geared toward is unavailable. Move it to a night where it can actually compete.

With all due respect, you have cancelled Arrested Development, you have cancelled Firefly, and now you are deciding whether of not to cancell Dollhouse. I won’t go so far as to say the aformentioned shows were the best on TV, but they were thoughtful, entertaining and funny. They appealed to a thoughtful crowd of TV viewers, a crowd that deserves at least one show to watch whilst dodging reality shows, contest shows and formulaic sitcoms. Let us have another season on Dollhouse, if only us from getting rid of our TVs altogether. Thanks for your consideration.
A show with a realy new concept … not that boring csi, csi ny, csi miami, csi war zone (äh ncis), law and order, law and order ci, law and order blablabla, … i can´t wait to see what happen next in the dollhouse … so DON´T cancel it … book 2 more seasons and this time with 24 episods!!!!

I know that U.S. networks rarely consider Canadians when making their decisions, but I think it’s unwise to ignore a large audience of “friendly” neighbours to the North. We purchase the same products and use many of the same businesses who advertise on your shows as, in Canada, we are generally watching the U.S. station, not a Canadian affiliate when we see Fox shows. Dollhouse is one such show. When we watch Dollhouse the same sponsors are reaching us with their messages.
I don’t know if you realize the very large audience of affluent professionals in Canada who watch this show religiously (most of us also ordered the DVD immediately and have extensive collections of all Joss Whedons’ work).
He is extremely popular in the professional community due to the intelligence of the writing, the inventiveness of the plot lines and his unique ability to have an entire vision for a program that does not waver or contradict itself through many seasons. Those who have seen Buffy and Angel understand the attention to detail, creativity and intelligence that make Joss Whedons’ programs stand out from the crowd.
Everyone I know (and that’s quite a lot of people, almost all of them lawyers, paralegals and doctors) watch this show, even when they watch nothing else on t.v. It’s a major topic of discussion Monday morning and throughout the week.
I hope that Fox reconsiders relying upon a long outdated system of judging the audience a show is reaching, one that promotes the continuation of lowest common denominator programming, and gives a unique and increasingly brilliant program a chance to find it’s audience.
It’s this outdated system that has turned many people who require a little intelligence in their entertainment and who understand how unreal “reality” television is away from t.v. and to their DVD players to rewatch shows with some quality. Like many I know, I’d rather re-watch Buffy, Firefly, Angel or even the original Get Smart (still a shining example of satire and wit) then subject myself to the mind numbing sit coms and realty shows that pass for entertainment.
Dollhouse is the best TV show since Firefly. I watch each episode twice each week (once when it’s on and on Hulu with friends that don’t get Fox). Please keep this show running.
By the end of this season, I was on the edge of my seat wanting to see what happens next. For me, that is very rare. Please gives us a second season. There is so much left to tell and the story just keeps getting better!
Dollhouse has so many stories to tell, and I hope they get to tell them! With such intriguing and whole characters, with many more mysteries to reveal, I would be gutted if I never met them again. There is a huge Dollhouse world to explore of dolls possibly controlling governments, infiltrating companies and spying on everyone for some greater purpose – the possibilities are endless! It’s going to be a great story to tell! But only if Joss gets the opportunity to tell it.

As I’ll be sure to tell Mr. Rice on his voicemail later tonight, please allow Dollhouse to go forward with a second season. It definitely picked up its pace halfway through the first season, and I think it’s able to get the legs it needs to carry itself ably.
Most shows do poorly to begin with; the cast and crew need to learn how to work together to make that specific harmony that keeps things flowing smoothly and keeps the viewers watching season after season. Dollhouse is no exception to this rule, please give it the chance that Joss deserves, and the chance that “Firefly” never had.

Dollhouse deserves a second season. After the first five episodes, the major shift in the show lead it to become fantastic, even if not everyone in the country was able to see it. Give those people the opportunity to realize how well Joss has done and give us a season two. Hype it up over the summer, show reruns– do whatever you can, and Joss won’t disappoint. The actors have crazy talent, the mythology is superb, and the moral and ethical dilemmas it presents are mind-blowing. Renew it!
Fox, Please let Dollhouse return. I just emailed you, it’s Brandon. Joss Whedon has never disappointed us in the television section. He created the mega-hit tv shows, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and Buffy spin-off, Angel. Think about all the fans that you will be disappointing.
Also, give the people who HAVEN’T had the great opportunity to realize Joss’ awesome show. Renew It! I am passing a petition around my class, home, school, and neighborhood. I want my friends who haven’t watched it, to watch it! The actors/actress have talent!

I watched Buffy, and SERIOUSLY LOVED THE SHOW!!!! When I seen the preview for Dollhouse, I was litterally, smiling so big my face hurt, I started screaming!

to FOX – I really do hope that you keep Dollhouse; it’s the first TV show I’ve been able to get excited about in a long time. It’s got everything that I want from a TV show! I think the cast is fantastic, and the plot and show in general has a very Joss Whedon type of flavor to it that’s really special (the many fans of his work can attest to this) that you just don’t get with other shows. I’ve honestly never seen a show like this before, and I’m absolutely desperate to see what happens next in the series! If this show is canceled, I know I’ll be crushed and disappointed, because something so incredible will have gone away before really reaching its full potential…like a flower that died because it’s life source was cut off before it could bloom. But it doesn’t have to be that way; Dollhouse doesn’t have to be one of those shows that disappear prematurely, leaving an ache in our hearts – I am confident that as Joss and his colleagues weave more and more Dollhouse tales, the more people will flock to it and much more enjoyment will be had by all. All we are saying is give Dollhouse a chance. Thank you for hearing us all out.

We watch Dollhouse every Saturday on Hulu. The show has really been evolving and quickly becoming riveting television. FOX – Please give the show an opportunity to become all that it promises to be. It will be a worthy investment.
