There seems to be some confusion on this point. I reported weeks ago the 13th episode of Dollhouse might not air here on Dollverse. We reported that it definitely wouldn’t air a few days ago. And now there’s something else to report: the show isn’t, in fact, cancelled. There’s an ongoing dispute over the final produced episode (number 13), that’s a fact, but it doesn’t translate as you’re totally humped.
So spread the word. Also, it’s off air next Friday due to FOX’s shitty scheduling. I know that will cause a lot of confusion and cause people to think it’s cancelled and stop watching. (See also: shitty scheduling). So spread the word. The only way the show returns for another season is if more people watch.

This is an awesome show. My daughter & I catch it every week. Love Joss Whedon's work.
My sister and I watch this show every week.
Fox has to be stupid to ever cancel this show, especially considering all the diffrent ways they could improve the series in future seasons.
Then again, Fox is renowned for being stupid.
Rumor or not – this does not make me happy one bit. I would have thought a show with enough sex like this would be getting better ratings. But, then again, I’m one of the ill-recieved DVR views. (You know, viewers who actually go out of their way to make sure they can watch every episode)
I wrote about this on my blog.

well, what a family show this is turning out to be. i watch it with my fiance every week and our friend watches it with his wife. maybe we should tell fox that every household watching it has at least two people… that would double the numbers… or not.
any way. thanks for this post. i’ve been trying to go around and respond to blogs that say its been canceled *cough*nypost*cough* but i’m just hoping the damage isn’t already done.
This show took a while to grow on me, but it finally has. I’m hoping for a second season and admit friday night is a tough time to catch this show. DVR
Talk about banging the drum, this episode had it, echoing more entertainment themes than I thought possible. This TV hour made it to the full movie “Pulp Fiction” standard. Congratulations!
My two daughter, nephew, friends and I all watch Dollhouse, then discuss it the next day. We love this show. There are so many paths this show could take. It’s exciting. And lately the story line has been getting so enthralling, that we find ourselves lossing track of the time then getting upset that the hour went by so fast. I hope Fox doesn’t act as stupid as the other networks and not allow a show to develope before it cuts it loose.

After fridays episode, Im really convinced that Dollhouse ought to be renewed for a second season.
I love this show, im sooo tired of all the reality shows its not funny and this is a new concept of show that i haven’t watched before. if fox is stupid and i agreee with legalmomof6 with networks and not allowing the show to develope before it cuts it loose.
Dollhouse is excellent. FOX is the worst network in history. NOT SHOWING THE FINALE?
What the Chuck! FOX, know this, when Dollhouse is gone I will never watch FOX again nor will I buy anything connected to FOX.
Never, never, never.
When the internet kicks off full throttle, we the Joss Whedon fans will see your network in ruin. Someone please get the message to FOX. Anyone who reads this and cares about quaility programs, I urge you to do the same because money and stats are all they care about. Firefly could have been and Dollhouse still could be fantastically popular and well loved. No advertising, no full first season, no decent time slot. FOX has shot itself in the foot numerous times and spat in the face of you the viewer. When are we going to say thats enough. I’m already decided.
I’m not surprised FOX isn’t showing the final episode. I mean, I’m pissed I’m not going to see it air, it’s just that something like this is to be expected from FOX.
My thanks to Kevin for keeping us all informed. I will be checking Dollverse regularly for any news of Season 2 happening.
Man, I love this show…
This show is probably one of the most original of the past few years, and some of the only really great storytelling still on TV. Here’s hoping it gets many more seasons after this
Great Show! I got hooked by the end of the second episode and look forward to every new episode. The stories are fresh, complex and innovative and I am surprised by every new one. Can’t wait for more.
I adore this show, and really hope it gets a second season.
Now that BS:G has paved the way for Sci-Fi series’ to take off on network TV, Firefly would be perfectly timed to stage a comeback Season 2. Of course, it would never happen for obvious reasons, but Firefly was just ahead of its time.
As for Dollhouse, I like it enough, but writing a show that doesn’t capture you until Episode 6 wasn’t a very good idea of Joss.
I still love him.
Well, I’m hoping that at least the final episode will be up on Hulu or something.
It’s still possible the 13th episode could air on FOX. There’s efforts going on in that area. I’m hoping to be able to post something about it in a few days.
I don’t know why everyone complains that it takes so long to get hooked on Dollhouse! From the very first episode I was completely taken with the possibilities of this show; it’s the perfectly renewable series with all kinds of undercurrents due to the imperfection of the imprinting process. People just need to watch the show instead of listening to other peoples complaints.
I watched the show, and the first 5 were poor. (Ep 3 almost had me turning off). But eps 6 onwards have been a large upward curve.
The problem is that no network (not only fox) will renew a show based on quality and/or potential. They look at ratings, and ratings alone. And Dollhouse’s are not good.
“The problem is that no network (not only fox) will renew a show based on quality and/or potential. They look at ratings, and ratings alone. And Dollhouse’s are not good.”
Friday Night Lights kills that argument dead right out of the gates.
One show does not prove a point. For every one you can name that got renewed based on quality (allegedly), I can name you 20 that got cancelled based on ratings!
My boyfriend and I both love Dollhouse, and watch it every week. Something I have not done in a long while because there hasn’t been much worth watching on TV. With the ability to watch so many shows online or on DVD through Netflix or iTunes or DVR, I think that the Nielsen rating system has proven itself obsolete. Not everyone is going to stay in on a Friday night to watch a TV show, especially when they can catch it the next day online. I dream of a day when networks realize this and support things of high quality, like Dollhouse or The Sarah Connor Chronicles, rather than killing them before they have a chance to develop. If Fox chooses to stay in the Dark Ages with boring Reality TV instead of supporting experimental dramas, than they have definitely lost my viewership.
I hope they dont cancel this show – im starting to lose hope though. First they can tru calling which i still haven’t forgiven them for, that show was awesome and in all honesty atm dollhouse hasnt lived up to it by the end the writing was getting much better the weekly episodes even in the beginning were gripping and the when jack came in i got seriously hooked, and hearing what they were going to do with season 2 and seeing jensens subtle changes by the end of season 2 just makes me even more mad that show was canned lol. then there was point pleasant just getting into that then axed. – then joey i liked that show it wasnt friends but it was down right hillarious at times. then mor recently courteney cox’s dirt i thought the first season of that was really ycool to and courteney has gotten seriously hot since she left friends, season 2 wasnt as good but would have picked up again but bamm axed again. ok rant over please dont axe dollhouse!
I LOVE THIS SHOW. This is the ONLY show I follow. Unfortunately I work Friday nights, so I have been buying the episodes at $1.89 a piece off Amazon. I get to download them to my computer and watch them offline many, many times. That’s commitment. If they cancel Dollhouse before its time I will go back to watching DVDs.
I just want to say that fox is really dumb if they cancel this show i catch it or if i cant watch it i record it.. its an awesome show and it has alittle bit in it for everyone… if they cancel dollhouse i will never watch fox again!!!! it just needs alittle more time to catch on!! i just started to get a couple of friends into it they would have deffinently benn fans!!! if they cancel it tis there lose along with ours
Im a big fan of Whedon. I fell in love with Firefly in the first minute or two.
However – Dollhouse just isn’t doing it for me. I haven’t given up. I have no particular complaint – its just not what Im looking for in a show.
Its a shame as its the first work from Joss that I haven’t been behind 100%. Im not giving up, Ill keep watching to see where it goes – but Im never craving the next episode like I did with the other series…
I think this show is awesome, I like that they brought Wash from Firefly, Fred(Amy Ackers) from Angel and Eliza Dushku from Buffy and Angel. One thing they do need to work on is the humor that Joss usually has in his shows, Topher is beginning to show some humor… Joss Whedon always has good shows. I agree that Fox always cancels good shows. They should give Dollhouse the chance for a second season atleast.
Why would Fox even consider canelling shows like Dollhouse or Sarah Connoer Chronicles. Oh wait these are the same “geniuses” who cancelled Firefly. Joss whedon needs to go the same route as the creators fo the Stargate series did and move your whole premise to the SciFi Channel. Fox keeps pumping out American Idol, for years and years and let’s face it, it is just “media for the mindless”. Pretty much like any other sort of reality TV. It entertains the vast amount of mouth-breathers in society. Joss has already proven his ability to create great Scifi stories make the move over to a scifi based channel. And maybe they will cut back on some of the “Scifi Channel original” movies, which mostly are weak anyway. The execs over at Fox have’t made a decent decision in years, no wonder it’s always going to be a third rate station.
Please cancel it!
The show is just infuriatingly stupid. It does occasionally have its moments, and sometimes Whedon’s humor does shine through, but in general, the show blows.
I'm gonna come right out and say it: FOX has already proven itself to be outright 85% pure stupid. To qoute GlaDos: "'WOOHOO!' That's how dumb you sound." I can muster up some respect for them if they give Dollhouse another season, but it will take time for me to forgive them for their foolishness.
I don't mind foolishness, but when fools are at the helm of an immense power (even a decaying network is still a huge corporation), that's just setting everyone up for a load of pain. Joss, wish you'd found someone else. Not assuming you didn't try though, I'm sure you did. I just feel the dark side of the corporate force weighing down on this show in its heavy-handed manner, and I don't know if I can take another Firefly-esque cancellation. And NBC looks like it's gonna kill Chuck, too, so pretty much any reason to watch TV at all is now being flushed down the toilet by the executive toddler like Mommy's awesome new cell phone.
