Sci-Fi Channel in the UK have picked up Dollhouse in the UK.
Barks Jon Farrrar, the programming exec in charge: “Dollhouse.. hails from fine pedigree. The special effects in [this] series are genuinely show-stopping and likely to be the subject of many water-cooler moments for fans.”
I’m not sure he’s seen the show.
They start airing shortly (“spring”, according to Sci-Fi).
Additionally, Tv Globo are going to be airing the show in Brazil, although they’ve still not said when it’ll start.
We have also asked FOX8 (FOXTEL) when they plan to show Dollhouse in Australia, but they’ve failed to reply to our request for information.

lol Special effects?
I´m from Brazil, and I´m not very happy to know Globo will be airing it, for they will air with dubbing, no widescreen, and certainly will edit. when they aired angel they´ve cutted scenes from episodes, imagine dollhouse wich has already about 6 minutes more in each epidode. you think they will have less comercials?? no way…they will rip it all!!
Aye, Anonymous – part of the problem with Dollhouse is it’s 50 minutes long, and that leaves little room for advertisements. So networks will cut things out, almost certainly, to add more commercials.
Yeah, I’m from Brazil too and Globo really really sucks. In fact, Globo bought Dollhouse a couple weeks before the first airing on USA.
But I’m concerned with another thing: brazilian portuguese subtitles on Dollhouse R1 dvds. Because, like Firefly, it will never being launched on DVD here in Brazil.
Yay! I’m so ecstatic that it’s officially coming to the UK! And ‘spring’ as well! Can’t wait! Haven’t seen any of it at all, it’s just too bad it won’t air on the BBC which wouldn’t cut anything for commercial breaks.
I will air on Globo in Brazil, but before that it will certainly air on FOX. FOX airs all the shows 20th produces on cable in South America, and only after a while network television, as Globo, is allowed to air their shows.
About brazilian portugues subtitles on DVD, that would be nice, I hope they do that. There are some movies that are coming out in the US lately with portuguese subtitles, and the first season of Supernatural has them.
you´re right shushu , Globo really sucks…but I guess it´s true that Fox Brasil must air it first…
About Dvds it is revolting that you can´t find firefly, not even buffy/angel dvds to rent anywhere, I had to download the vids and suffered a lot until learned how to download and synch subtitles.
But ShuShu, if it is going to air on globo, the chances of a dvd launch here increases likes 90%, because people will watch. I guess it´s the one good side about it…
Anonymousss
Bad side is that Globo will probably broadcast around 3am on random days, (like it was with Angel, Bones, Saving Grace and so many others), and probably no one except the vamps will be tuning in.
And Latin America’s 20th Century Fox is such a nightmare. We still wait for the incoming seasons of Buffy and Angel who has never lauched.
PS: oh, not only Supernatural, but also Gossip Girl, Terminator: SCC, Chuck, Fringe and all another TV SHOWS coming up on DVD for the 1st time this year.
Latin America’s FOX Channel is really problematic in the sense that they take a while to start airing shows. Unlike Warner that airs stuff a month after they first air in the US, FOX takes at least 6 months, but since Dollhouse is mid-season, it’ll probably take even longer.
Either Globo will air it at 3am or in the Lost/24/Prison Break time slot, in which they air shows five days a week from january through march. But if Dollhouse isn’t huge and attract an audience on cable, it’ll probably air at 3am.
Eventhough Prison Break was cancelled due to poor ratings in the US, it’s been huge in Brazil. And, curiously enough, Buffy was the most watched show on cable in 2001, and Angel was the 4th. Shows that are smaller in the US tend to be big in Brazil.
